European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior)
Ash is strong, dense, lighter in colour than oak and smooth to the touch. It takes gluing, stains and polishes well, making it popular for woodworking projects. Its great strength, shock resistance and density makes it particularly suited to furniture making and sporting equipment.
