Cladding

Douglas Fir Cladding

The king of UK softwoods, native Douglas Fir is strong and naturally durable, with the highest strength rating of a softwood. The timber has a distinctive character, with its attractive salmon pink hue and darker growth rings, weathering slowly to a silvery-grey. Douglas Fir is very straight grained and 30% lighter in weight than oak, and is a cost-effective option for external cladding.

Our homegrown fresh sawn Douglas Fir cladding is sustainably sourced from a local well-managed estate in Sussex. The rustic appearance of sawn profiles make them well suited to rural properties. However, machined profiles are perfect for internal and external cladding on contemporary buildings. As it is both tough and durable, with a high resistance to impact, Douglas Fir is also ideal for exposed elevations and areas of hard wear and tear.
