Our Timber Species for Cladding
-

Douglas Fir Cladding
Locally sourced from responsibly managed Sussex woodland, our top-quality Douglas Fir is perfect for cladding. The wood is usually a light to reddish brown with darker growth rings and a straight grain. English Douglas Fir is both strong and tough and offers excellent value for money.
-

Oak Cladding
We offer a wide range of sawn and machined European Oak cladding to suit differing property styles and customer requirements. Oak’s durability and beauty, along with the minimal maintenance required, make it a worthwhile investment.
-

Larch Cladding
The hardest, strongest and most durable of our native coniferous woods, British Larch can exhibit a lot of character in the timber. Our homegrown larch is a versatile, affordable and sustainable option - ideal for traditional or contemporary buildings. We also offer a machined TGV profile in Canadian Larch.
-

Western Red Cedar Cladding
Its distinctive colour makes Western Red Cedar instantly recognisable, but it can also be painted or stained to suit customer specifications. Its appearance, durability, stability and cost have made it the number one choice for cladding in the UK.
-

Red Grandis Cladding
Red Grandis is an affordable alternative to Western Red Cedar. The pale pink tones combine with delicate figured grain and few knots to create an elegant appearance.
-

Sapele Cladding
A stunning rich colour, Sapele looks fantastic in modern and contemporary settings. It is also incredibly durable, as the natural oils in the timber enable it to weather very wet conditions.
-

Thermo Limba Cladding
Thermal modification improves the stability, durability and overall performance of the timber. The result is a cladding with a consistent deeper brown colour that will last 25 years or longer.
-

Thermo Radiata Pine Cladding
Our Thermo Radiata Pine cladding is sustainably sourced from New Zealand. It is very versatile and can be used internally or externally, including in saunas.

The beauty, strength and natural resistance to decay of European Oak make it an ever popular choice for external cladding. Oak can withstand harsh weather conditions and maintenance is relatively low as it requires minimal cleaning and oiling. Although it is generally more expensive compared to softwoods like Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir, its durability makes oak cladding a worthwhile investment.
Feather-edge cladding (also known as weatherboarding) is a time-honoured style of external timber cladding often used for barn conversions, oak framed buildings, and both new build and older rural properties. The boards are cut on the diagonal to produce a tapered board that is overlapped when fitted. Feather-edge cladding is designed to be laid horizontally and it is recommended that the fine sawn face of the board is exposed. As it is fresh sawn, the cladding will shrink after installation. It is therefore important to read our installation and fixings information.
Our oak is sourced from responsibly-managed and sustainable woodlands in France. We cut all our cladding to order, allowing us to maintain control and produce a top-quality end product.
