P N G Rosewood (Narra) Pterocarpus indicus Turning Blank
It’s actually a padauk specie and not a rosewood at all. It lacks the strong
colours associated with either.
It’s lovely wood all the same, with good workability, stability
and the right sort of density for cabinet making purposes.
Easy to work with both hand and machine tools, one of Narra’s only downsides is that it has a moderate blunting effect on cutters. Narra turns, glues, and finishes well.
